PSG beat Slovan Bratislava 6–1 at Parc des Princes on September 9, 2026, in their Champions League opener. Ousmane Dembélé scored twice, Ferran Torres hit a hat trick, and Fabián Ruiz added the sixth. Suleiman Camara replied for Slovan. PSG arrived after four winless games, seven goals conceded, and a French Super Cup defeat to Lens.

Dembélé profited from a rebound and a deflection

In the 17th minute, Nuno Mendes hit the post from distance and Dembélé finished the rebound. Six minutes later, Dro Fernández’s deflected shot became a delivery for Dembélé to head in. The double took his PSG Champions League total to 20. These were his first goals of a season he had described as difficult because of limited playing time, according to ESPN.

Torres scored across both halves

PSG’s official report placed his goals in the 31st, 47th, and 57th minutes. Dembélé assisted the first; Torres turned in Dembélé’s corner with his knee for the third. PSG held 72% possession before halftime and 73% overall. Mendes also had a goal ruled out for offside before the hat trick was complete.

Slovan replied, but the outcome was settled

Camara entered the box from the left and finished into the far top corner in the 59th minute for 5–1. The original report identifies Slovan coach Yaya Touré, formerly of City and Barcelona, as the first African coach to lead a Champions League side. In the 88th minute, an incomplete clearance from a short corner allowed Ruiz to finish close in for 6–1.

A response to a difficult spell

The margin offered a reset after PSG’s winless run. The opponent’s context matters too: Slovan were returning after two years and had lost all eight games in their previous Champions League appearance. One emphatic win is a response, not a complete assessment of PSG’s recovery.
