Your coaching workspace

Build a clear explanation first, then add detail. Every mode edits the same session; switching modes never removes your work.

1. Choose the right workspace

  • Classic: formations, players, ball, team colors, notes, 2D/3D, save/import, SVG and PNG.
  • Pro: all Classic tools plus run/pass arrows, lines, zones, circles, freehand strokes, and text annotations.
  • Pro+: all Pro tools plus named frames, durations, playback, scrubbing, movement trails, and WebM recording where supported.

2. Arrange your team

Choose an active team and apply a formation. Only that team is repositioned. Drag a player, or select one and click a destination. Shift-click selects a group. Use the inspector for exact coordinates, names, and numbers. Player and Ball tools place objects with one click. The ball cannot be deleted.

3. Explain the movement

In Pro, drag to draw. Solid arrows represent runs and dashed arrows represent passes. Zone and Circle tools highlight space. Text uses the annotation field in the tools panel. Return to Select to move or delete an annotation. Grid snapping rounds pointer positions to 5% increments.

4. Change the perspective

2D is an overhead view; 3D projects the same positions into a perspective field. Orbit rotates around the field. Tilt ranges from 25° to 155°: 90° looks straight down, and higher values continue over to the opposite side. These controls adjust the camera, while Landscape and Portrait rotate the field. Editing works in either view. Reset view restores the camera without changing tactics. Zoom can crop the field; zoom out to see the whole scene.

5. Build a sequence

  1. Switch to Pro+ and capture the starting frame.
  2. Move players and the ball, then capture the next frame.
  3. Repeat, naming each frame and setting seconds to the next position.
  4. Click a frame to load it. Edit the scene, then choose Update frame to replace its snapshot. Capture frame adds a new step.
  5. Play, pause, or drag the timeline. Stop returns to the working scene. Move earlier/later changes the frame order.

Player IDs keep movement continuous. A player added or removed between frames appears or disappears at the next frame. Annotations change at frame boundaries. The last frame is an end position, so it has no outgoing duration. These are authored movements, not AI predictions or physically simulated runs.

6. Save and present

Save on device stores one session in this browser. It does not sync or upload anything. Export project includes all frames, drawings, and notes; it is the portable backup. Import accepts studio files and legacy FootballCap boards. PNG/SVG export the current view without selection outlines. WebM records the sequence once at the selected playback speed; keep this tab visible. Cancel ends recording without downloading a partial video.

7. Learn from an article

The exercise library contains short authored sequences with links to their explanations. Supported articles include an Open tactical exercise button. Exercises are educational examples, not reconstructions of real matches.

Limits and recovery

Up to 30 players, 100 annotations per scene, 24 frames, and 2 MB per project. Undo/redo retains 60 recent edits during this visit. Save/export can report an error when a required name is blank or browser storage is full; complete the field or export a backup. Changing pitch size starts a new session after review. Small-sided markings are schematic, not regulation pitch plans.
